Homework 6.1: YouTube Video: My Drunk Kitchen

My Drunk Kitchen Parody: Soap-making with Tiffany and Stephanie

For our video, Tiffany and I collaborated to create a parody of the "My Drunk Kitchen" YouTube videos by Hannah Hart. While "Harto" typically cooks various food items in her videos, Tiffany and I decided to instruct our "viewers" on how to make soap, which we later used for our Impact 25 project. (See an example of the official "My Drunk Kitchen" videos below.) The video was edited entirely on iMovie. Let us know what you think, and remember: Like, Comment, Subscribe!

  2. This is for both of you (Tiffany and Stephanie) I love it!! It is such a smart way to connect both your projects together by re-creating this kitchen video. So impressed about how much determination you had to actually create this video at the same time as making the soaps, as well to have a video in mind. Both of you together are so funny, you are even better than the actual drunk kitchen video. I want to see more episodes! You also knew that you were being funny so it was really cute as well. The editing is so well thought of. Amazing job! Thank you for sharing!!!

  3. This is also for both Tiffany and Stephanie! I love your recreation of drunk kitchen! You are both hilarious! I was laughing out loud in the library to all of Tiffany's side whispers. Please start your own youtube channel. Art teachers get drunk and make crafts. I love how you used the music, cheering, and sparkle swipe graphics over your names to set the tone! They worked perfectly. So many small details that added so much to the overall effect. I also feel like videos like this are a really great way to engage students (maybe without the wine haha). Students could make funny youtube tutorials about how to make collographs or use a green screen to share with their classmates. Students are so engaged with youtube, instagram, and gameplay videos. Stephanie and I were even told by a 5th grader today that he has his own Youtube channel. This would be such a great way to engage students who are interested in this kind of stuff. Anyway, as Tammy said, fantastic job! I was laughing and smiling the whole way through and now want to go make some homemade soap!

  4. I agree with Tammy - it was a fun twist to make soaps instead of food and combine this remake with Impact 25! I loved all the little details you added to this video, like the mood music, sped up section, Spongebob "Three Hours Later" interlude, and the sound effects. I also appreciate how you left in the bloopers and added the comment, like, subscribe part at the end to add to your "you tuber" personas. It looks like you guys had fun making it too, which makes it more fun for us to watch!

  5. Tiffany & Stephanie,

This is such a fun recreation of my drunk kitchen. I love how you put your own twist on it by linking it back to the Impact 25 project. My favorite part was how you used the editing software to speed up the process and add "mood music" in the background. Very successful video montage :) You both are so funny and natural which makes it fun to watch - very charming! You definitely kept the lighthearted and funny vibes from your inspiration video. Well done!
